NYCC Part III

On to Sunday...

I finally had time to check out the NERDS booth:

The adorable Nerds critter posed with his fan:

It was Babo's last day to visit The Cultyard:

We stopped by the awesome Pigfish booth and picked up some great comics! Creator Mike A. signed them too!

Tara McPherson's Cotton Candy Machine booth was filled with lots of fantastic goodies:

Loved these guys by Sara Antoinette Martin of Skelecore:

Loved the Frombies booth- they were super-nice and we got lots of great swag (photos to come later):

Another view of the Clutter Magazine booth:

Onto the vendor area and the adorable Vamplets:

LOVED these critters from the Romanian Comics booth of the Romanian Cultural Institute of New York:

No one was in this booth, but what a cute poster!

Next and last NYCC entry: NYCC Swag! Woohoo! You know you've been waiting for that... :)

NYCC Part II

Friday continued...

Super Mario met Colleen's Super Duck:

So many T-shirts, so little time... Babo just wanted them all!

We passed some zombie nurses:

Smile! Jared Deal with Erick Scarecrow of ESC-Toy LTD:

Finally at home, we charged up our phones and shared our NYCC loot with Babo:

Saturday started off with a quick trip to NYCC to The Art Hustle Booth for Abe Lincoln Jr.'s signing. He drew a couple of sketches for each of us and I just had to get this adorable pin from him as well:

We then all went out for some delicious pizza from Sullivan St. Bakery- time to load up on carbs!

Zucchini Pizza:

Tomato/Mozarella Pizza:

Cauliflower Pizza:

Then back to NYCC and Jared Deal's Booth. His Mega Munny Vlad was awesome:

Jared painting some of his limited edition resin figures:

I loved this mini Ame Dasu from the Lulubell Toy Bodega:

Jack and Muertos Monster looked right at home in the Toy2R USA/Tenacious Toys Booth:

Got a great sketch from Jason Freeny while I was at the Toy2r USA/Tenacious Toys Booth:

On our way out, we ran into Jeff Koenig, Founder and CEO of OMFGeek.com with his awesome Yeti:

The parking rates in NYC are still pretty scary:

At the Skylight Diner. The perfect end to a perfect day with my long-time NY flickr friend Shelly (you can see her taking a photo of her rootbeer float as well):

Friends are the best- hopefully I'll be back to NY soon! More tomorrow...

NYCC Part I

Somehow I find myself continuing this a week later... Sorry everyone!

Thankfully, I made it to the Jacob Javits Center on Thursday during Professional Hours at around 6:40 (they closed at 7:00 pm!)- just in time to get my badge (whew!), and to pick up this adorable monster from Chris Hammer, of urbnpop:

He even threw in a free Koozie:

That was all I had time for on Thursday.

On Friday...

I met one of my long-time flickr friends (who I haven't seen for three years!) at the Uglydoll booth- definitely THE place to be!

David Horvath was there, and he was super-nice as always- he signed my Uglydoll book:

He was very patient and took pictures with us all as well.

There is always a giant Uglydoll (or two!) hanging around for photo ops with everyone:

Babo had the best time meeting David again (we met him at 2008 UglyCon at Giant Robot in NY), and we just LOVED the awesome and colorful booth design!

My Plastic Heart's booth had some awesome customs by Brent Nolasco
and Ryan the Wheelbarrow:

Of course there were some interesting characters floating around...

The Clutter Magazine booth had handmade plush Coralmari by Lana Crooks:

Babo really enjoyed hanging out with his New York toy friends, Cinko and Super Duck:

Cinko belongs to our friend Shelly and Super Duck belongs to our friend Colleen.

That is probably enough for now... more to come tomorrow!

New York Comic Con 2011

Well... it's been a crazy few days but we just got back from New York Comic Con (NYCC) last night. It was really great to meet several of our friends and colleagues in person after all of these years, and of course we loved spending time with our NY friends, who we haven't seen since our last trip. And of course, we pretty much ate and shopped our way through the four days- woohoo!

Gotta love this banner... I guess it was necessary though, since I did see many attendees with swords!

Another super-cute banner. The Metro PCS/Tokidoki booth had adorable critters to take your photo with as well:

A foreshadowing of all of the hats to come...

Tune in tomorrow for more fun NYCC tidbits!
